FAQ: How do I move a deal to Close Won?

So you want to close out a deal and move it to Close Won, but you keep getting an error...

If you're getting an error like this:

GOOD! You should be. CRLs and GRLs cannot move deals to Close Won. Only Client Finance Leads can move Deals to Closed Won. Finance must review and confirm contract details and budgets before a Deal is officially closed.

Ensure your Deal is in the Contract Out stage so HubSpot assigns your Client Finance Lead a closing task. They will close the deal once the contract is signed.

If your Deal is still in Client Committed or Pitching/Negotiating, that task won’t trigger and the deal might be delayed in being closed out. If Client Finance hasn't closed a deal that you would like to have closed, feel free to slack your CFL directly.
